Research Interests

My research focuses on the interactions between Plasmodium falciparum and the human sickle cell trait. I am interested in how the proportion of the sickle cell allele in the human population influences the pathogen strain structure, and the coevolutionary feedback between them. Currently I am using mathematical modelling to investigate these dynamics, with the potential of lab-based work in the future.
